Cannot signal
136

136 of 505 companies cannot produce a signal at all — 131 have fewer than ten years of usable earnings, and 51 have an F-Score criterion that cannot be determined. Under a unanimity rule a missing leg forces Hold, so these are excluded by data availability rather than by anything about the company. A further 2 could not be fetched from the data provider.

A backtest of this rule did not find outperformance. Over 2012–2025, across 492 companies and 72,950 observations, stocks where all three methods agreed returned +1.73% over the following quarter against +3.72% for the average scanned stock — about two points worse. Sell signals did not fare better in the other direction. That period strongly favoured expensive growth companies, which a cheap-valuation screen excludes by design, so this is one market regime rather than a verdict on the method. But it is the evidence there is, and it does not support the strategy. How this was measured.

▲ bullish · ▼ bearish · · neutral · ○ not available. An asterisk on the F-Score marks an incomplete score, which forces the quality leg to neutral. Engine 2026.08.02-box6-momentum-accruals.
